Dr. Benjamin Otten, Veterinarian

Dr. Benjamin Otten is originally from Upstate New York and has always wanted to be a veterinarian. He earned his undergraduate degree from Heidelberg University and received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. In 2001, he completed a residency in Avian Medicine at The Animal Medical Center in New York City. After completing his training, Dr. Otten relocated to Northern California, where he has worked in general practice at several veterinary hospitals throughout the Bay Area, including founding allCREATURES Veterinary Clinic in El Cerrito.

During veterinary school, Dr. Otten had the opportunity to meet Temple Grandin, which deepened his passion for animal welfare and compassionate care. His approach is thorough and thoughtful, and he is committed to providing individualized, high-quality veterinary care for pets and their people. Dr. Otten is grateful to be part of the Ross Valley Veterinary Hospital team and values the supportive and skilled community he has found there.

Dr. Otten now lives in the Bay Area with his 2 and 4-legged family members. In his free time, you can find him at the local farmers market, in his tie-dyes and Birkenstocks, grilling in his backyard, and relaxing at Dillon Beach.
