End-Of-Life Care

Saying goodbye to a beloved pet is one of the hardest decisions any pet owner will face. Ross Valley Veterinary Hospital understands how deeply personal this moment is. We offer end-of-life care in the hospital with all of our doctors and at home with Dr. Sahaghian.

Our in-home pet euthanasia service allows your pet to pass peacefully and comfortably in familiar surroundings, without the stress of a car ride or an unfamiliar clinical setting. Dr. Sahaghian brings specialized experience in end-of-life care and guides families through the process with compassion, patience, and respect for both you and your pet.

What to Expect

When you’re ready, call our team to schedule an appointment. Availability is based on staffing and location, and our team will work with you to find an appropriate time. During the visit, the veterinarian will walk you through the process and prepare you for each step. The process is gentle and painless, and you’re welcome to be as close to your pet as you’d like throughout.

There is no rush. This is your time to say goodbye on your terms.

Aftercare Support

We honor the fact that the care doesn’t end with goodbye. Ross Valley Veterinary Hospital can help coordinate aftercare services, including cremation, urns, and paw print keepsakes, so you don’t have to navigate those decisions alone during a difficult time.

When Is It Time?

Knowing when it’s time is never easy. If your pet is experiencing chronic pain, severe mobility issues, or a declining quality of life, we’re here to help you think through your options. Some families find it helpful to use a pet quality-of-life scale, such as this one from Lap of Love. You don’t have to make this decision alone. Call us, and we’ll have an honest, compassionate conversation about what’s best for your pet and how we can help.
